Beransa (Betinvetmab) for dogs is innovative new therapy called a Therapeutic Monoclonal Antibody (MoAb), which helps alleviate arthritis pain. It is a Biotherapy that works by neutralizing a protein called NGF (Nerve Growth Factor). High levels of NGF have been detected in Osteoarthritic joints. When a joint is arthritic and damaged, increased amounts of NGF is released. These high levels trigger a cascade of changes which ultimately result in more inflammation, pain and joint degradation. Beransa is similar in many ways to naturally produced antibodies and is metabolized and eliminated via normal protein degradation pathways with minimal involvement of the liver or kidneys.
Effects of increased NGF levels on joints
- Increased Sensitization of nerves receptors ( Nociceptors) and pain perception
- Increasing inflammation within and around the joint that leads to more damage by inflammatory mediators
- Speeds up the progression of joint degeneration and osteoarthritis.
The end result is more pain and increased joint damage.
Beransa is able to block the action of NGF, which has many benefits including
- Reduced nerve sensitivity
- Regression of additional nociceptors ( pain receptors)
- Reduce inflammation
- Reduced joint pain
- Slowing down the progression of further joint damage
The positive results have far exceeded our expectations, and we thrilled to see so many pets happier and enjoying the things they used to again.
With over 25million doses distributed world wide it is clear that the positive impact we have seen has been echoed all around the world.

With over 25 Millions of doses used worldwide, it is also not uncommon for pets to have underlying health issues which may show symptoms whilst being treated with Beransa. Whilst these issues may not be directly linked to Beransa, to be overly cautious they need to be mentioned when reporting any potential side effects.

For pets suffering from chronic or severe Osteoarthritic pain management treatments like Beransa can be life changing, however we do always need to ensure the utmost safety and take into account the risk benefit.
