Hi, me again. Today I want to talk about my favourite things, toys! Well that is my second favourite thing, my first is FOOD, but the good news is that I can mix toys and food together!
So why should I have toys? Well let me tell you, us dogs, when we get bored, we can dig, bark, chew, destroy and escape, so hey there, give us something to do!

Arthritis is one of the most common ailments seen in middle-aged to older pets. Even younger pets particularly dogs who have joint problems such as hip dysplasia can suffer from arthritic changes. Arthritis causes changes within the affected joints, commonly inflammation and damage to cartilage, which leads to pain. This pain is responsible for many of the signs associated with arthritis. Here are some of those common signs.

Treatment for arthritis is best tackled by a multimodal approach. One treatment on its own is often less effective. We aim to reduce pain and inflammation, slow down the progression of joint damage, and help maintain or improve mobility and muscle tone.

Did you know that a dog’s sense of smell is our primary way of communicating. It is how we interpret the world and is as important to us as sight is to you humans. When we say hello to another dog, we greet by sniffing. I can then tell what sex they are, what they ate for breakfast, who they have already met that day, what they have touched and what kind of mood they are in. Clever aren’t we.

Ear infections are one of the more common problems we see. Most infections start quickly and will resolve with the appropriate treatment. In some cases the infection can be secondary to an unhealthy/abnormal ear canal which can lead to recurrent problems.
